KaraMia of Jackson, NJ is a busy millennial working full-time in customer service for a banking institution and fitting in college classes in central New Jersey where she is studying psychology. She’s enjoying her 20s to the fullest, taking vacations, socializing with friends, dancing and enjoying a new love of fashion since her 70 pound weight loss after undergoing the gastric sleeve in June of 2014.
“I’m not done with my weight loss yet but I can tell you that life is very different when you go from a clothing size 20 down to a size 16,” KaraMia says. “People just look at you differently — which is the best inspiration for me to stay on this path until I reach a normal BMI.”
“Dr. Seun and his group at Prime Surgicare told me that exercising will speed up my weight loss and they are more than right. It also gives me so much more energy to get through my busy days. I’m way too young to be held back by my weight.”
KaraMia says her favorite form of exercise is dancing, which she does every chance she gets. “Whether it’s Latin salsa, pop or hip hop, I am the first one on the dance floor and the last one off!”
Stay tuned for an update later this year on KaraMia’s post-op weight loss surgery journey, as she tries to achieve her goal weight of losing more than 100 pounds.
