Dr. Seun Sowemimo cannot say enough about his weight loss surgery patient, Adam Reich.
“Adam is a great guy. I definitely see him achieving his goal weight within the next few months,” Dr. Seun says. “From the beginning, he put in the hard work and is now reaping the well-deserved benefits.”
Rediscovering a Passion for Fitness
Besides changing his nutrition since bariatric surgery, Adam is also exercising again. He went from walking less than a mile on the treadmill (just after his procedure) to running a 5K at a 10 mile/min. pace six months later. Adam also lifts weights and uses other cardio machines as well.
Formerly an avid biker, he joined Prime Surgicare’s Trailblazers, Trekkers and Trotters group that meets to bike, walk or jog on the weekend. The club is exclusively for Dr. Seun’s bariatric clients, so everyone can feel comfortable regardless of their current weight.
“In just a few more weeks it will warm enough to start the group up again,” says the board certified bariatric surgeon. “Adam tells me he’s ditching his childhood bike (a relic of days gone by) and getting a more up-to-date model to suit his new look.”
Dr. Seun says he has a 75-mile ride already on the 2016 calendar and looks forward to riding with Adam and other post-op participants.
Adam Tells His Weight Loss Story
“A year ago today, I started a journey that has literally changed my life for the better when I had gastric sleeve weight loss surgery,” Adam says.
In February 2015, Adam weighed 283 pounds and had a BMI of 41.0.
In February 2016, he weighs 185 pounds and his BMI has plummeted to 27.1.
“I couldn’t have done this by myself. I have to thank Danielle S., my inspiration; Prime Surgicare for their expertise, caring, professionalism, and awesome “bedside manner” (and the summer bike rides!); all of my family, friends and brothers for their continued support; and, last but most certainly not least, my beloved wife Tara and my boys for their love and support. This is, by all means, not the end of my journey but a major milestone for sure. Here’s to future days of good health for me and everyone I know!”
