Feeling the budget pinch this time of year?
‘Tis the season to be jolly…and spend a lot of money doing it. All the while, you are also working hard to stay on track of your weight-loss or management by eating the right foods, when possible.
While extra cash may be tight this month, use your grocery store dollars wisely by purchasing and keeping these items available in your kitchen. I like all these recommendations because you can add them to holiday meals and parties or just enjoy them with your weekday meals:
• Hummus
• Frozen fruits and vegetables
• Bagged cole slaw
• Canned diced tomatoes or jarred pasta sauce
• Cottage cheese
• Peanut butter
• Eggs
• Oats
• Apples, oranges, grapefruit
• Beans
• Brown rice
• Canned tuna
There are more healthy foods that are inexpensive and good for you. Let’s keep the list going here in comments. What other cost effective choices are on your grocery list every week?
