Updated 3.5 years later…Down 158 lbs and feeling healthier than I have in years. BP, a1c, and cholesterol all down and arthritis is totally under control. I can walk and move and do things again!. If you are overweight, go see Dr Seun. I am a huge proponent of Bariatric surgery for extremely overweight people - I’m practically evangelical about it - it is life changing and life saving!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Seun and the whole staff at this practice. They are caring, compassionate, funny, welcoming, and place patient safety as their top priority. Most bariatric patients have experienced fat discrimination from many medical providers - here, all patients are encouraged and valued! The staff at Centrastate was also amazing for pre and post-op bariatric care. My VSG surgery went off without a hitch - I felt great within 3 days of surgery - and in 4.5 months I’m down 85 lbs. I still have a way to go, but it has been life changing so far. I can’t thank Dr Seun and the whole team enough. Dr. Seun and teams at the Freehold and Jackson offices, I don’t know where to begin! My family and I are extremely appreciative and grateful for the professionalism, the compassion and the support that we have received these past three weeks. My husband had hernia repair surgery in October 2024 and my daughter had gastric sleeve surgery 8 days ago. My husband did his research and found Dr. Seun through a partnership that our insurance offered. He was so impressed with his first consult with Dr. Seun that when my daughter brought up the option of the weight loss surgery, we knew he was the doctor for her to consider. Neither husband nor my daughter ever looked back after their first visit. As much as no one ever wants to go through surgery, it was a very positive experience for both of them. The offices and hospital are an hour and 20 minutes from our home, but the distance never factored into our decision when we found Dr. Seun and getting the utmost care for our family. I visited Dr. Sean after doing my homework and he came highly recommended. His practice made the process seamless without the need for grueling pre-operative diets and only insurance required hoops to jump through. I came to him disabled, with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, diabetic, sleep apnea, with no quality of life. 3 months post surgery I am down 80 lbs and happy to report all of my previous ailments, save my disability, have resolved themselves. My primary care doctor told me the surgery probably added 20 years to my life and I have no reason not believe him. Dr. Sean quite literally gave me the time and quality of life to watch my children grow up. I will be forever grateful and I can’t recommend this practice enough. Five Stars and then some.

I had the gastric sleeve on December 11, 2023. Since then I lost 115 pounds and still going. I exercise 6 days a week and follow a healthy diet, while tracking my food/water intake daily. I feel as if I have a new lease on life. I am happier, more confident, and more willing to try new things. I am a better person all around, and feel extremely luck to have this opportunity. Dr. Sowemimo is a wonderful surgeon. I would recommend anyone struggling with weight loss to go to his practice.

I'm 9 months post-op now. I've never felt better! I'm a size that I never dreamed possible. I'm smaller now than I was in high school. My confidence is at an all time high. I felt healthy enough to start going to yoga and try outdoor activities, like tubing and hiking. I don't feel limited anymore by my body.
